While the John Hillcoat directed film ‘Lawless’ is on just about everyone’s most anticipated films of the year list, their posters are a little… out of place.
‘Lawless’ is the prohibition era true story of the bootlegging Bondurant brothers, based on the novel by Matt Bondurant. The film has a bevy of A-list names in it like Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, and Gary Oldman. The trailer is intense, further building anticipation for the August 31st US release. The film is set to premiere at Cannes tomorrow and I’m hoping to hear more about it in the following days!

Jessica Chastain’s poster is my favorite, obviously, and Tom Hardy’s is pretty good too. However, the rest of them seem a little… camp-y. Especially for a John Hillcoat film. Don’t the guys all look sort of like they are in an East Los Angeles gang? Current time, not prohibition era. Especially Shia LaBeouf’s, right? That one is rough.
No amount of bad posters can take away my excitement for the film though. See you in theaters this August!
Carly Chaikin & I outside of the ABC Upfronts party Tuesday night held at the Dream Downtown.
One of the best part of Upfronts week here in New York is that the chances you will get to meet some of your favorite TV characters live and in the flesh are usually pretty high. Especially if those TV characters are one of the hottest and most popular on whatever specified network they might be one. In this case, I got to meet Dalia Royce and Ryan Shay – or we can call them by their real names, Carly Chaikin and Parker Young – from ABC’s ‘Suburgatory’!
Tuesday night was a pretty gross night what with the on and off rain and the heinous amounts of humidity, but that didn’t stop my friends and I from heading out to meet some celebrities. When there are this many of them in town, especially ones you don’t get to see often since they all film their TV shows elsewhere, sometimes the state of the weather is just irrelevant.
Parker Young & I outside the ABC Upfronts party on Tuesday night.
I spotted Carly Chaikin leaving the ABC Upfronts after party at the Dream Downtown and might have freaked out a little bit. Thankfully Brian was there to call her over for pictures since he knew how she plays hands down my favorite new character on television: Dalia Royce. If you have ever seen an episode of ‘Suburgatory’ – and hopefully you have seen them all – you know that Carly steals every single scene she is in. Dalia’s extremely vacant, and thanks to Carly’s deadpan line delivery she is absolutely hilarious to watch.
Parker Young, another ‘Suburgatory’ favorite of mine, had left the party when we got there but thankfully returned later on in the evening and was super sweet to cross the street for pictures with us. Ryan is not your typical boy next door in the sense that he is drop dead gorgeous, but he does play a pretty convincing ego-centric high school jock. I love Ryan Shay because not only is he really pretty, and really funny, and really athletic, but he’s also offered some pretty great wisdom to Jane Levy’s character which gives him a lot more depth than may meet the eye.
I can’t wait to see what season 2 brings for the ‘Suburgatory’ cast! If all goes well maybe I’ll get to meet Jeremy Sisto, Jane Levy, and Cheryl Hines next year, too. In the meantime here’s a hilarious video of Carly Chaikin showing off her hip-hop skills. You’re welcome.

Good morning fellow fangirl’s and fanboy’s alike! Let’s be honest: Who needs coffee when you can wake up to something as delicious as this Entertainment Weekly cover featuring the sexy half-dressed stars of ‘Magic Mike’? Um, not me.
The issue, which is out in drugstores and on news stands across the country tomorrow, starts with a charming Channing Tatum giving you a little dose of eye-sex, but the real treat is inside. When you open the flap that is so conveniently lined up with Channing’s button down shirt it reveals an even bigger dose of eye-sex in the form of Channing now being joined by his very scrumptious looking co-stars Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, and Matt Bomer.
Joel McHale and I outside the NBC Upfronts after party at Del Posto Monday night.
As I mentioned in my previous ‘Smash’ cast post from the NBC Upfronts after party, the crowd was pretty big but still very well behaved outside of the event held at Del Posto. Thanks to the well behaved crowd I got the chance to meet a bevy of different NBC stars both new and old who were all in attendance to support their network. Since I have so many pictures from Monday night I made a slideshow for you guys to check out. If I tried to write a paragraph for every thumbnail it would be so TL;DR you might not ever come back to my blog and that would be sad.
Among the NBC stars I have pictures with from Monday night are: Joel McHale from ‘Community’, Jesse Bradford who will star on this Fall’s ‘DILFs’, Dane Cook who will star on this Fall’s ‘Next Caller’, Cee-lo Green and Carson Daly from ‘The Voice’, Billy Burke whose show ‘Revolution’ was picked up for Fall as well, & Adam Scott from ‘Parks and Recreation’!
To think, that was just a handful of the celebrities in attendance on top of the ‘Smash’ cast that I also met. Upfronts week really brings them all out!
I will admit that I was most excited about meeting Dane Cook. When I heard he had a show coming to NBC in the Fall I knew that he would be my #1 priority since I have been a fan of his stand-up work since I can remember. Check out our picture in the slideshow!

Christina Borle and I outside of the NBC Upfronts after party.
Monday night following the FOX Upfronts after party at Wollman Rink there was another party for the NBC Upfronts at Del Posto. The NBC Upfronts presentation itself had happened much earlier in the day, but I had skipped it since I knew there would be a party that same night. Seeing as how the FOX Upfronts after party had sort of been a bust I was a little nervous when I got to Del Posto about an hour before the party was slated to begin, but thankfully the crowd wasn’t too crazy. I kept my fingers crossed that it would stay that way, and while the crowd itself did grow they were pretty well behaved overall. I don’t mind big crowds so long as they aren’t being maniacs.
Jack Davenport and I outside of the NBC Upfronts after party Monday evening.
One thing I knew that I was definitely missing out on by being at the NBC party was the ‘Smash’ finale. Thankfully I have DVR, but since we were going to learn who finally gets to be Marilyn (Kat McPhee or Megan Hilty?!) I was terrified of spoilers. What if someone at the party mentioned it? Even worse, what if a cast member mentioned it? I was forever grateful that when I actually did meet ‘Smash’ stars Christian Borle, Jack Davenport, and Megan Hilty that the finale wasn’t ruined for me. If anything, it made it more exciting! The first of the ‘Smash’ cast I met was Jack Davenport who plays Derek, the slutty-but-brilliant director of Bombshell. Though I have mixed feelings about Jack’s character I have to say that in person he was very charming, though I may have just been swooning over the British accent.
Megan Hilty and I outside of the NBC Upfronts after party held at Del Posto Monday evening.
Next to arrive to the party was Christian Borle who I missed going inside. Christian, who plays songwriter Tom on ‘Smash’, was more than happy to stop for a picture when he was leaving though which I was very happy about! Megan Hilty arrived a little late to the party but was still willing to take a quick picture on her way inside. I have to say that even though I despise Megan’s character Ivy on ‘Smash’ she is breathtakingly beautiful in person. [SMASH FINALE SPOILER AHEAD!] Even though she doesn’t get to play Marilyn in on the show she definitely exudes the same blonde bombshell sexiness that Marilyn herself once did. Admittedly I was very much Team Karen Cartwright (Kat McPhee) all season long though, so even though Kat wasn’t at the NBC party with the rest of the cast I was still very happy with the season finale. The last number titled “Don’t Forget Me” performed by Kat McPhee completely blew me away – I had goosebumps!
I couldn’t find a video of the actual performance by Kat McPhee from the ‘Smash’ finale but I did find the audio which is a delight on it’s own. Check it out below!

Anna Kendrick & I at the ’50/50′ NYC premiere in 2011.
It was announced at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con that my all-time favesie actress Anna Kendrick would be features on this season of ‘Family Guy‘. As the season went on and I didn’t hear a single peep further about it, I chalked it up to a scheduling conflict and figured it didn’t work out in ‘Family Guy‘s favor. Anna did film seven movies last year, after all!
Turns out I’m just too impatient because today ‘Family Guy‘ released a behind-the-scenes look at Anna Kendrick’s cameo as rookie cop Nora on this Sunday’s season finale. With ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting‘ in theaters this Friday it seems like Anna is going to have one awesome weekend!
Demi Lovato and LA Reid arriving at the Wollman Rink in Central Park for the FOX Upfronts after party.
After kicking off Upfronts week on Sunday night by hitting up some agency parties, it was go-time on Monday afternoon when the FOX Upfronts presentation hit the Beacon Theater. While I skipped the actual presentation and opted to hit up the after party at Wollman Rink instead, sadly I was not the only one who had that stroke of genius idea. I got to Wollman Rink very shortly after 4pm – when the FOX Upfronts presentation at Beacon Theater started – and it was already jam packed with fans. Every year he FOX Upfronts get crazier and crazier as far as the fans go and I have to admit that after this year I don’t think I will be attending next year. I lucked out back in 2010 when ‘Glee’ was first becoming a huge success and they basically owned the Upfronts presentation when I met almost the entire cast, but every year since I haven’t really had much luck in meeting anyone from the network so I think it may be time to call it quits.
Zooey Deschanel signing autographs for fans outside of Wollman Rink.
I have to admit that FOX wasn’t a complete and total bust for me though. I got to meet Lamorne Morris from ‘New Girl’ which was exciting considering that just the previous night I had met Max Greenfield and Hannah Simone. Zooey Deschanel even came out to sign some autographs and take some pictures which is such a rare, rare thing for her to do so it was a treat watching all of her fans get to meet her! I know so many people who have tried to meet her over the years and have asked for pictures and she has turned them down, so to see that maybe she is easing up a bit as far as fan interaction goes is pretty cool. Speaking of people who don’t usually stop for fans, in the three years I have been doing Upfronts I have never seen Lea Michele sign a single autograph let alone take a picture with anyone – and yesterday she did both! I had heard that she was becoming a bit more accessible at events and the like, so to see it happen live and in-person was definitely awesome. I know that she made a lot of ‘Glee’ fans very happy yesterday!
‘Glee’s Naya Rivera & ‘Fringe’s Joshua Jackson share a golf cart back to their cars following the FOX Upfronts after party.
Some other exciting things that I got to witness at the FOX Upfronts after party were Naya Rivera and Joshua Jackson introducing themselves and then sharing a cab back to their separate cars, as well as ‘Glee’-king out over Darren Criss and Chris Colfer arriving on the same golf cart. This means absolutely nothing (seriously ‘Glee’ fans – they were just sharing a golf cart like everyone else had!), but it’s exciting seeing your favorite TV couples together in-person! Oh, and this isn’t a big deal or anything, but… Britney Spears was there. FOR REAL. Britney arrived with 3 golf carts full of security and her team, but didn’t stop for any fans. Someone told me that she waved and blew a kiss or two, but I didn’t see that with my own eyes so who knows. Queen B did not stay very long, maybe thirty minutes tops, but things were a lot calmer when she left as you can see in my video. Long after Britney was gone an Escalade drove into the park on the walkway all the way up to Wollman Rink and we thought she might be back, but nope – it was Kevin Bacon. How is it possible that Britney Spears can take a golf cart like everyone else on FOX, but Kevin Bacon needs an Escalade?! Crazytown.
Lamorne Morris from ‘New Girl’ stopped to take a quick picture before hitting the FOX party at Wollman Rink.
