Anna Kendrick On the Season Finale of ‘Family Guy’!

16 May

Anna Kendrick & I at the ’50/50′ NYC premiere in 2011.

It was announced at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con that my all-time favesie actress Anna Kendrick would be features on this season of ‘Family Guy‘. As the season went on and I didn’t hear a single peep further about it, I chalked it up to a scheduling conflict and figured it didn’t work out in ‘Family Guy‘s favor. Anna did film seven movies last year, after all!

Turns out I’m just too impatient because today ‘Family Guy‘ released a behind-the-scenes look at Anna Kendrick’s cameo as rookie cop Nora on this Sunday’s season finale. With ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting‘ in theaters this Friday it seems like Anna is going to have one awesome weekend!

Is Chace Crawford Looking For A Role in “Catching Fire”?

8 May

The rumors, speculation, and suggestions for casting “Catching Fire” have been running rampant on the internet since before the “The Hunger Games” was even in theaters. While I have my own opinions about all of these roles needing to be cast, I have not weighed in on them here on my blog because my friend Brian over at BEST Blog summed it up pretty well back in April.

Last night during some downtime after the Met Gala arrivals I watched a new video interview conducted by Clevver News on YouTube with Chace Crawford and Anna Kendrick for their upcoming romantic comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting“. To my surprise the girl interviewing them mentioned to Chace that “a lot of people” were wanting him to be cast as Finnick O’Dair. This was the very first I had heard of Chace Crawford’s name being thrown into the ring along with Armie Hammer, Kellan Lutz, Colton Haynes, and Taylor Kitsch among others and I have to say I instantly disagreed with the idea. Actually, just to clarify, I still think it’s a terrible idea.

Today I saw that Clevver News had uploaded a new video titled “Chace Crawford: Finnick in Hunger Games! – Exclusive” that threw me off because I quickly remembered the original interview where they asked Chace Crawford about the role that was only uploaded maybe twelve hours earlier and it wasn’t really anything that cemented he wanted the role at all. In fact, while he does go on to say that he hopes has a hook up at Lionsgate now thanks to “What to Expect” he really only jokingly pleads for the role at the end. Plus when he is first asked about the role he looks at Anna Kendrick and asks her if she’s read the book to which she says, “I have not,” and then turns back to the interviewer and says, “I don’t know that character.” A few moments later Anna asks him if he’s read the books and though his initial reaction looks like a “no” she tells him to say he’s a huge fan of the books – and he does. You have to admit, Anna Kendrick knows a thing or two about book-to-movie franchises after her scene stealing role as Jessica Stanley in the first four “Twilight” films. Though I am sad to report it seems she has no interest in “The Hunger Games” with having not read the books either even though she was my first choice for Johanna Mason.

Anyway, I wouldn’t hold your breath for a “The Hunger Games” campaign from Chace Crawford though I’m sure the edited version of this interview that Clevver News put up will  help bring it into every interview he does for the next month or so. The full length interview with both Anna and Chace is below. Enjoy!

Get Ready for “End of Watch” to Blow Your Mind in September!

4 May

I have this thing I say about movies: If it can genuinely make me both laugh and cry, I’m in.

On Tuesday afternoon I got a last minute invite to a very, very advanced screening of “End of Watch” – a South LA cop drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, written and directed by David Ayer. I have been following this film since casting was announced and filming was underway, so when I found out I could see it five months in advance to it’s release I jumped at the opportunity. It did a lot more than just make me laugh and cry, so I’m definitely in!

The original format for “End of Watch” was to be shot from first-person only via handheld, dashboard, and mini clip-on cameras used by the LAPD officers, cartel criminals, and civilians involved in the film. It has since been made a combination of first and third person shots meaning they tied all of the handheld/dashboard/etc. camera’s into shots by an external cameraman, and I have to say that the film itself felt so authentic and so much like an actual documentary that you do not even notice when they are being viewed from an external point. Each and every shot of this film was beautifully raw.

Jake Gyllenhaal plays Officer Brian Taylor while Michael Pena plays his partner Officer Mike Zavala (“Z”), and the first 30 or so minutes of the film are spent introducing us to them. We learn that they are the hot shots of their department instantly, but we quickly learn that as much as they are kick ass cops they also have some stereotypical power trips from time to time. However, these power trips are not dangerous enough to make them the bad guys and instead gain them even more respect not only in the film but also by the audience. We quickly learn about their conflicts both inside their police department and also with the criminals they are already familiar with. As their story continues to unfold and begins to focus on a consistent issue they keep encountering with a particular cartel/gang, we are introduced to their personal lives as well. Officer Zavala (Pena) is married to his high school sweetheart played by Natalie Martinez with a child on the way, and Officer Taylor (Gyllenhaal) has just started dating Janet, played by Anna Kendrick. Though their personal lives are not a primary focus of the film, enough attention is paid to them in order to help provide an equal balance between their cop mentalities and their family mentalities. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a film that has perfectly captured a balance quite like David Ayer does in “End of Watch“.

I am so happy to have a trailer to share with you so you can get a feel for the film, especially since I can’t seem to find enough words to describe how amazing it was. Expect lots of updates about “End of Watch” as I am now emotionally attached and invested in it’s success!

Who would YOU take to the White House Correspondents Dinner?

28 Apr

Spring is a somewhat magical time here on the east coast for massive celebrity events. While the west coast is recovering from months of gigantic red carpets during awards season we are gearing up for two events: the Met Gala which takes place in New York, and the White House Correspondents Dinner which takes place in Washington DC, obviously. I’ve never made the trek down to Washington DC for the White House Correspondents Dinner, I imagine security at the White House is a little too extreme for fangirl’s like me looking to star gaze for an evening, but checking out all of the pictures online as they appear is one of my favorite end of April traditions.

This year comedian and late night show host Jimmy Kimmel is taking the stage to headline the White House Correspondents Dinner in hopes of making Mr. President, The First Lady, and the Vice President laugh all night long. The celebrity guest list is somewhat extensive and goes a little something like this:

ABC: Sofia Vergara; Jesse Tyler Ferguson; Julie Bowen, Eric Stonestreet, Christa Miller, Bill Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, and Paul Rudd.

Atlantic Media: Rosario Dawson.

American Urban Radio Networks: Stevie Wonder.

Bloomberg: Zooey Deschanel and Kate Upton.

Bloomgberg BNA: Holly Robinson Peete.

CBS: Claire Danes, Christine Baranski.

CNN’s Piers Morgan: Goldie Hawn.

Fortune: Rashida Jones.

Fox News: Kim Kardashian & Kris Jenner. (Fox News shouldn’t even be invited, in my opinion. Their invitation should have been revoked with their horrible guest choices.)

Fox’s Greta van Susteren: Lindsay Lohan. (Further proving my point about Fox’s invitation…)

Huffington Post: Daniel Day-Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Darren Criss.

People Magazine: Josh Hutcherson.

The New Yorker: Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Jason Schwartzman, Aziz Ansari.

Newsweek: Reese Witherspoon, Viola Davis.

NPR: John Legend.

Washington Times: Uggie.

Washington Post: Pierce Brosnan.

Pretty swank list, right? To think.. that’s not even the entire guest list! The possibilities at an event like this are pretty endless, if you ask me. So, who would Professional Fan Girl invite to sit at her table during the White House Correspondents Dinner?

Anna Kendrick, Ryan Gosling, Megan Fox, Helen Mirren, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Chastain, Ashton Kutcher, and, of course, Betty White.

Most of these are a no brainer. Anna Kendrick? Fave. Taylor Lautner? Fave. Ryan Gosling? Well, if Taylor is sitting on one side, I need someone on the other… Helen Mirren? Let’s face it, the woman can and will party. Jessica Chastain? Who doesn’t want to be her best friend? Ashton Kutcher? We can chat social media. Megan Fox? Another fave. Plus, I’ve never met her. Really! Betty White… because someone will have to pick up where Helen Mirren leaves off after she passes out.

So, tell me, who would YOU bring to the White House Correspondents Dinner?

“What to Expect When You’re Expecting” Unveils New Poster!

5 Apr

The latest poster for "What to Expect When You're Expecting" - click for larger image!

Now that April is finally here the countdown is on and slowly winding down to the May 18th release of the star studded pregnancy comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting“!

I’ve been posting updates about the film for a while and if you’ve been reading any of them you already know that I’m still on the fence for this one. Some of what we’ve seen in the different trailers seems really funny, and some of it seems really terrible. (I’m looking at you, “Dudes Group”.) However, I have faith in Elizabeth Banks, Rebel Wilson, and Anna Kendrick and refuse to believe they would ever fail me as far as comedy goes… so I remain excited for “What to Expect When You’re Expecting“s release!

The first posters we saw from the film were character posters of all the leading females – Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, etc. – and they were cute with their baby bellies and tag lines. The second poster I didn’t see online but instead as a banner in every movie theater I’ve been in, and it features some of the dads in the film – aka the “Dude’s Group”. For some reason Lionsgate has made this particular bunch the focus of every trailer we’ve seen. This is ironic to me because every time their scenes come up I am usually cringing, which is also why I did not share that poster with you on my site.

As you can see the latest poster is a combo of the leading ladies and the dudes, and since I am so good at compromise I want Lionsgate to know that I can live with this! Also, the leading ladies images are all new ones that look like they were taken from movie stills we may or may not have seen just yet.

Either way, I’m still in for “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” – even if it really is only for Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson & Elizabeth Banks.

In case you missed it, here’s a rundown of the online campaigning/promoting Lionsgate has set up for “What to Expect “!

‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ Online Promotion Begins!

27 Mar

Have you seen the above promotion for Season 15 of ‘Celebrity Dance Factor’? Are you wondering why you’ve never heard of it, or why Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison are doing reality dancing shows all of a sudden?

Well, that’s because they aren’t. Not in real, anyway. ‘Celebrity Dance Factor’ is part of the upcoming movie ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting‘! As part of their promo for the movie which will be released 5/18/12 (Mother’s Day weekend!) they’ve released the faux commercial for the reality show in which actors Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison co-star on, which will also include cameo’s by Cheryl Cole, Taboo, and Whitney Port – who wrote about her cameo on Celebuzz.

Oh, and to keep Anna Kendrick fans like me interested Lionsgate has created a Twitter account based on Rosie’s (Kendrick’s character in ‘WTEWYE‘) food truck Cheezy Rider. Followed, obviously!

There is also a Pinterest page for Skyler Cooper aka Brooklyn Decker’s character from the film and it pins lots of baby clothes, LOL’s, and… cocktails!

I’m excited to see where this is going… I’m hoping Chace Crawford’s character gets a food truck Twitter as well, plus I’d love to see more from the other characters like Elizabeth Bank, etc.

NEW TRAILER: ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ UK version!

21 Feb

I will never understand why different countries get different trailers, or different edits of trailers, especially when we are all going to get the same movie.

They only changed three parts of the ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting‘ trailer for the UK – and guess what?! One of those parts was the Rosie/Marco storyline aka Anna Kendrick and Chace Crawford! They added in completely new footage which gives you a little more insight to their specific pregnancy scenario which is nice for someone like me who is a #1 Anna Kendrick stan for life.

Oh and they threw in a .05 second shot of the Cheryl Cole cameo for the UK version as well, which is understandable since she’s like their HBIC over there.

BuzzSugar recently posted an on-set interview with ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting‘ star Elizabeth Banks in which she had this to say about the movie:

”It feels like they are making four or five different movies. They made a Cameron Diaz movie, they made a J Lo movie, they made an Anna Kendrick movie, and now they’re making a Liz Banks movie. I don’t know what anyone else did, I hope we’re all in the same movie.”

‘Pitch Perfect’ cast tells us ‘Love Is Louder’!

15 Feb

One of the movies I am most anticipating this 2012 is ‘Pitch Perfect‘ – a comedy centering around collegiate a cappella groups that was adapted from the Mickey Rapkin book of the same title. ’30 Rock’s Kay Cannon penned the script with Jason Moore directing with Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman producing.

The film stars Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick (FAVORITE!), as well as an ensemble supporting cast that includes ‘Bridesmaids’ Rebel Wilson, ‘The Help’s Anna Camp, and ‘Workaholics’ Adam DeVine, and actress Alexis Knapp (whose adorable baby girl is also featured in this video). While they were filming ‘Pitch Perfect‘ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana last fall they took the time to make this PSA for Brittany Snow’sLove Is Louder‘ campaign which is a self-described “movement of people here to say that love is louder than any voice that casues pain or brings you down.”

As of right now ’Pitch Perfect‘ does not have a release date, but I am hoping we hear more about it soon! Don’t worry – I plan on keeping you guys updated on this one.

“What To Expect When You’re Expecting” Movie Posters!

26 Jan

Courtesy: Lionsgate

I don’t even know where to start with this. When ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting‘ was filming last August in Atlanta, Georgia I was excited only because my favesie Anna Kendrick was in it. Aside from her making an illegitimate baby with Chace Crawford and the effortlessly hilarious Elizabeth Banks being in it, I didn’t see much promise. Anything that has both Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in it sounds like an instant disaster to me, especially since most of their movies are disasters on their own. The trailer wasn’t too bad, in fact I found that the worst part of the trailer was “The Dads” which meant that the five leading ladies (Kendrick, Banks, Diaz, Lopez, and sort-of newcomer Brooklyn Decker) had a chance of saving this movie. I’ve also found that you really cannot tell how awesome a movie will be or not depending on the trailer, because ‘She’s Out Of My League‘ had the worst trailer in existence which caused it to do very poorly, but it was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

The posters have finally been revealed, as you can see, and I’m sure you’ll be seeing them all over your movie theaters pretty soon. As excited as I am to see Anna Kendrick finally have her very own movie poster (and will be buying one no matter how bad this movie is or isn’t) I have to say I wish it were for something else. Then again, I’m sure this campy pregnancy chick flick was probably a lot of fun to make and one day when I get knocked up (hopefully intentionally at the time) I will be able to relate.

What To Expect When You’re Expecting‘ also stars Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Joe Manganiello, Dennis Quaid, Rebel Wilson, Rodrigo Santoro, and Chris Rock. It will be in theaters this coming May!

’50/50′ Premiere!

27 Sep

So last night was the New York premiere of ’50/50′ which is hands down the best film I’ve seen this year, if not almost ever. My friends (Carly, Christina, Chelsea, Anne, Kathleen, & Ilana) and I got to Zeigfeld Theater EARLY – and by early I mean Carly, Christina & I were the first fans there by 3:30PM to secure ourselves a nice spot on the barricade where we could hopefully get to meet some of the cast. I was there to see my all-time favorite actress Anna Kendrick who I adored in 2007′s ‘Rocket Science’ which if you have not seen you must go rent or buy ASAP, but my friends (especially my roommate Carly!) were there to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt who ended up being a total let down by not stopping for the fans at all. Apparently he’s not very big on signing autographs and taking pictures, which is fine, lots of celebrities aren’t, but usually they fake it for at least the premiere or their movie or something which unfortunately Joe did not. Sad face.

However! Seth Rogen came over for us and was incredible not only because he is hilarious and everyone loves him, but because when he came over the autograph sellers were practically climbing on top of us and hitting us in the head with their arms, elbows, and pictures to get signatures and Seth took care of us. He was moving their pictures and arms out of the way and kept telling them he wasn’t going to sign anything if they kept hitting girls in the head (see Chelsea’s video on top!) the way they were. He stopped to take pictures with most of us! Anna Kendrick arrived shortly after Seth did and came right over to the fans without delay, and as she was doing so a cab driver that was stopped in the street letting her cross was taking her picture which is what she’s talking about when you see her walking over in Chelsea’s video. Anna was, as she always is, a total sweetheart who signed autographs and took pictures with everyone and also followed Seth’s lead in telling the autograph sellers to back off because we girls had been waiting for her & the cast all day. My picture came out slightly blurry but it doesn’t matter because it was just nice to see her again and fangirl in her face a little bit. (I think that actually creeps her out, but it’s fine.)

Speaking of fangirling in peoples faces… Angelica Huston. Oh my God. Angelica got out of the car on the fans side and when she did I might have beasted for her. I think it was something along the lines of, “OH MY GOD. YOU’RE ANGELICA HUSTON. CAN I TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOU?” To which she smiled at me, turned away from us, and walked across the street to the red carpet. And you know what? It’s totally fine that Angelica Huston shunned me because she’s Angelica Huston and ‘Ever After’ is the greatest movie of all time.

We ended up getting into the screening as well and it was my third – that’s right, third – time seeing ’50/50′ and I have to say it was a total honor to be sitting in the theater for the premiere screening with director Jonathan Levine, writer Will Reiser who also introduced the film, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, and Angelica Huston. I had an awkward encounter with Seth at the popcorn counter and accidentally bumped into Angelica Huston while passing her on my way to my seat in which I apologized approximately 25 times. Overall it was a really awesome night and I am glad that I went, JGL picture or not!

’50/50′ comes out THIS FRIDAY 9/30 and you must, must, must go see it!
