2012 Met Gala: FAVES!

8 May

Last night was the 2012 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala – better known to the masses as the Met Gala - and if you didn’t already know this, it is considered the “East Coast Oscars”. Every year the Met Gala is the mecca of fashion on the red carpet. If you pay any attention at all to Fashion Week then you can pretty much predict who will be wearing who, but watching the red carpet will still take your breathe away no matter how much you think you’ve prepared yourself for it.

While I watched the red carpet happening live in person by standing across 5th Avenue with a clear view of the red carpet drop-off depot, there were a number of gowns that literally had me gasping with my jaw on the floor.

Who was my favorite, you ask? Emma Stone. Emma Stone shut it down in her gown which was a multitude of things such as adorable, fun, and sexy! Coming in a very, very close second (Seriously. I debated this internally for far too long.) is Carey Mulligan in a sequined Prada gown that matched the debut of her wedding bling perfectly.

Honorable mentions: Beyonce, Amber Heard, Chanel Iman, Christina Ricci, Jessica Stam, Nina Dobrev, and – GASP – Rooney Mara. Flawless choices, ladies!

Below is a slideshow of my FAVES from last night’s Met Gala - aka the “Best Dressed” in my opinion! Who was YOUR top pick of the night?

‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer!

7 Feb

One word: WOAH.

Love seeing Andrew Garfield be a smart ass, as well as that sneak peak of ‘The Secret Circle‘s Chris Zylka being a fuzzy headed bully, but I’m sad over the lack of Michael Sheen and Sally Field. Either way I cannot WAIT to see this movie in theaters!

National Board of Review: Chock Full of Celebrities!

13 Jan

When you do what I do, hit up events and TV shows to meet celebrities, it’s a rare occasion you hit the same events every year. The are a few specific things like the Tribeca Film Festival, spring and fall Fashion Weeks, and even what we like to call “TV Week” in May that hosts all the network upfronts. However there is one event that my friend June and I have made our own tradition out of for three years now, and that’s the National Board of Review Awards which are held every January at Cipriani on 42nd Street. I consider the National Board of Review like our own little east coast Golden Globes/Oscar hybrid, which, if you take a look at some of the winners for this year, you’ll see why:

George Clooney, The Descendants

Tilda Swinton, We Need to Talk About Kevin

Top Films

There are always big names at the NBR Awards and even if you don’t get the chance to meet any of them during the event, it’s still pretty cool to be able to watch all of these big names and talent arrive and mingle outside on smoke breaks, and see all the gorgeous dresses, etc. In the slideshow are some pictures of Alec Baldwin, Carey Mulligan, Emma Stone, George Clooney, Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Jessica Chastain, Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara, Seth Rogen, Shailene Woodley, Stacy Keibler, Tilda Swinton, and Viola Davis. Enjoy!

No one will ever love me the way Jim Carrey loves Emma Stone. No one.

25 Aug

Since Jim Carrey made the video non-shareable, his site has continuously crashed since the video was posted. The power of Emma Stone! I believe Robert Downey Jr. is a few people ahead of Jim in line though…

Emma Stone @ ‘The Help’ Premiere

10 Aug

Oh my God, Emma. Why? It’s like she didn’t like the top of her dress so she covered it with a top… unfortunately it ruined her figure!

Thankfully her movie ‘The Help’ is absolutely fantastic and I very much enjoyed seeing the midnight screening last night! It bears repeating that Sissy Spacek undoubtedly steals the whole film.
