Fashion’s Night Out @ Saks Fifth Avenue!

9 Sep

After stopping at Forever 21 and hanging with Christian Serratos, our next stop of the night was Saks Fifth Avenue! Earlier that morning we stopped at the store to pick up wristbands so we could enjoy the Joe Jonas performance on the 7th floor in the menswear department. Designer Simon Spurr introduced Joe Jonas (who not so coincidentally was dressed in head to toe Simon Spurr) for a three song set that included “Love Slayer”, his next single “Just in Love”, and the first single “See No More.” It was the first time I was seeing Joe perform solo and he was really great! I had a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to seeing his full show when he hits Best Buy Theater in October.

Fashion’s Night Out @ Forever 21 Times Square!

9 Sep

Last night was Fashion’s Night Out not just in New York City but all over the world, and I took it by storm! 2010 was the first year that I participated in FNO and it was pretty low-key. I spent the majority of the night at Bloomingdale’s where June and I met Gabriel Aubrey and got to mingle with the cast of Boardwalk Empire! This year I made different plans every day – it seemed like something was being announced every few hours all week long and each announcement was more exciting than the next!

My first stop for the night was Forever 21 in Times Square – one of my favorite places to shop.  Ilana and I did some browsing through their new denim line – Divine Rights of Denim – and took some cute photo booth pictures! Around 7PM Twilight’s Christian Serratos came to sign autographs and meet with fans. Her connection with Forever 21 is that she is the Divine Rights of Denim Ambassador! Christian was very sweet and even personalized each of the promotional posters that featured her Divine Rights campaign. I’ve met a large majority of the Twilight cast over the years and it was exciting to meet a cast member that isn’t always on the promotional campaign for the movies. Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is her last of the saga and I’m wishing her big things in the future!

After meeting Christian we got some free goodie bags from the Forever 21 staff which included some jewelry (I got a super cute ring and some pretty earrings!) as well as a 10% discount for the next time I shop there. WOO!

The final product of the ‘Glee’ Fashion’s Night Out campaign!

24 Aug

When I first posted about the “Glee” Fashion’s Night Out commercial I had no idea that a full length music video would be the follow up.

My original three questions still apply, but now I have a third… why isn’t Artie in a wheelchair?! My theory is that the magic hands of Anna Wintour have cured him. VOGUE, the masterminds behind the whole campaign, is kind of like the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory of fashion and pop culture. I bet they even have sideways elevators! If only @CondeElevator would come back and confirm…

That being said, I found the video to be kind of boring. Lea Michele’s dress is super fun, and I love seeing Cory Montieth and Chord Overstreet (quitter!) all dapper in their suits, but there’s nothing special going on here.

‘Glee’ Meets Fashion’s Night Out!

18 Aug

Not only did ‘Glee’ do a Fashion’s Night Out spread (which you can see at Just Jared!) but they also did this epically cheesy FNO commercial for FOX.

Please note: I say ‘epically cheesy’ with love. Why else do we watch ‘Glee’, anyway?

I have some questions, though…

1.) Why is Chord Overstreet in this? Didn’t he quit? Awkward.

2.) Where is Amber Riley?

3.) Where is Naya Rivera?!
