22 Mar

Want a nice break from all of my “The Hunger Games” posts? How about… Michelle Rodriguez?

Michelle attended “The Hunger Games” premiere in NYC on Monday night, and during a quick smoke break before the movie started she stopped to take some pictures with waiting fans.

Jerry Ferrara at the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere!

5 Jan

So as you know I had a PRETTY successful evening at the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere a couple of weeks ago, and if you didn’t know about that then I strongly suggest you reading my last article on Next Movie to get yourself acquainted with the experience.

While on the red carpet there were quite a few familiar faces that passed us by like Katie Holmes, Geoff Stultz, Jennifer Morrison, and, of course, Entourage‘s Jerry Ferrara. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I was a huge, huge, huge Entourage fan and my summer Sunday nights will now be incomplete without Vince and the boys running amuck all over Los Angeles and making Jeremy Piven’s life a living hell.

Unfortunately none of those names listed, including Jerry, stopped on the red carpet. I know, I know. Tragedy. Heartbreak. Woe is me. But, thankfully, he did stop at the after party that was held at MoMA.

I felt bad asking him because he was enjoying a night with his (very gorgeous) date, but since he had been so nice on the red carpet and took the time to say hello to us even though he wasn’t allowed to stop, I figured… why not? My hunch was right and Jerry was AWESOME. I said hi again and asked for the picture to which he kindly obliged, and I apologized to his date for interrupting who didn’t seem to mind at all. I mean, think about it. If you were on a date with someone that someone else wanted a picture of, wouldn’t you be cool with that? I think I would, too. Bragging rights or something like that.

So that’s how I met Jerry Ferrara, and I’ve also met Adrian Grenier in the past, so maybe one day I’ll get the chance to meet Jeremy Piven, Kevin Connelly, and Kevin Dillon. Hopefully it’s at the Entourage movie premiere!

2011′s Top Celebrity Encounters: #1 – Tom Cruise!

2 Jan

Have you seen #5 – #2 (Jake Gyllenhaal, Justin Bieber, Shia LaBeouf, & Taylor Lautner)? If not – click HERE!

Alright, admittedly I should have posted this Saturday. Unfortunately I was much busier this weekend than I originally expected and that’s why you’re getting this now – though I’m sure the wait has anxiously checking the site every five minutes, right? Right.

Hopefully Tom Cruise being #1 of 2011 comes as a surprise, though I understand if it doesn’t considering it happened so recently. If by chance you missed how I met Tom Cruise please check it out on my NextMovie column here! I kind of have a thing for Tom Cruise. What’s not mentioned in my column is that I had been telling my friends all year, “I want to meet Tom Cruise. I want to meet Tom Cruise. I WANT TO MEET TOM CRUISE.” I mean, he’s such a big deal to me that I can’t even just refer to him as Tom. He’s Tom Cruise. I didn’t meet Tom, I met Tom Cruise. This isn’t a picture with Tom, it’s a picture with Tom Cruise. It’s kind of like one word. Tom Cruise.

And that, ladies and gents, is my Top 5 of the year. Hopefully I’m still blogging at the end of 2012 and hopefully I can bring you another Top 5 then with brand new faces!

2011′s Top Celebrity Encounters: #5 – Jake Gyllenhaal!

27 Dec

Usually at the end of every year I do a little something to commemorate all of the awesome celebrity meetings I’ve had throughout the year. For the past two years I’ve made videos (2009, 2010) so this year, now that I have this super cool web-site you all love, I wanted to do something a little different! Today starts the Top 5 countdown of my favorite/most memorable celebrity encounters of 2011. Ready?

Meeting Jake Gyllenhaal was like shooting fish in a barrel. This picture was taken in March while Jake was in the city promoting “Source Code” and we had been trying to meet him all day. I guess maybe in retrospect it wasn’t really that easy, seeing as how we had gone to see him at Regis & Kelly where he didn’t stop earlier that morning, but here’s how it went down…

We had heard early on throughout the day (after getting shunned at Regis & Kelly) that there would be a “Source Code” premiere in the city that night, but we had no idea where. After work my friends and I met up early and put together our heads, all of our resources, and went on a search for the premiere – to which we are somewhat unsuccessful. As we were sitting in a coffee shop trying to figure out a Plan B we got a tip that the premiere was being held at the Crosby Street Hotel downtown. Of course! How could we have forgotten the Crosby?! At this point the red carpet was already well into effect, if not over, but we headed down anyway with positive thoughts and fingers crossed.

When we got there there was no – and I do mean NO ONE – else there. We were the only fans. There was maybe like, one photographer on the other side of the entrance. Could we really be this lucky? First we got excited, we knew we had it in the bag, but then we got nervous. What if no one was here because it was over? What if our tip was wrong? What if he had left after the red carpet? There were a very stressful few minutes before the press started to leave through the front entrance and I ran into a friend who let us know he was still inside. PHEW.

Once all the press had cleared out Jake was on his way out when we got to stop him for pictures. Even though he wasn’t very chatty and made it seem like he might be in a rush, he took a few minutes to take individual pictures with Brian, June, and I before taking off. It could not have been easier and we could not have been happier about it! Michelle Monaghan also left shortly after, and she was bit more chatty while we were taking pictures with her. All in all: SUCCESS!

Stay tuned for #4 tomorrow!

Red carpet candids from the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere!

23 Dec

For those of you who read about my night on the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol red carpet and meeting Tom Cruise (if you didn’t yet, click here!), you know that Tom was the only one I managed to get a picture with at the event. However, I took lots of candids of Robin Thicke, Simon Pegg, Jennifer Morrison, Michael Nyqvist, and Tom Cruise himself that I hope you all enjoy in the below slideshow!

NEXTMOVIE: A Woman on a ‘Mission:’ Meet Tom Cruise!

21 Dec

On Monday night thanks to an awesome new friend I got the chance to hang on the red carpet of the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol premiere, and I got to meet Tom Cruise! The story and picture are up on my Next Movie column so go check it out ASAP!

Also included in my Next Movie gallery are pictures with Tom’s MI:GP co-stars Simon Pegg and Paula Patton. Go, go, go!

Immortals: The movie with all the hot dudes.

8 Nov

If the “hottest movie of the year” title was based on how many hotties were running around dirty, sweart, shirtless, and speaking in ancient tongue accents, the title would go to ‘Immortals’ which is released this Friday (11/11). This group picture from the LA premiere after party last night proves my theory correct alone – and that includes director Tarsem and also excludes most of the other resident Immortal hotties.

I’ve included a gallery for your eyes to view and your mouths to drool. Who is your favorite? I’m partial to Kellan Lutz, but Henry Cavill and Stephen Dorff run a close tied second.

Gabourey Sidibe @ the “Tower Heist” premiere!

1 Nov

So I’ve had a mild obsession with Gabby Sidibe since ‘Precious’ had it’s run in awards season a couple years back. I think it was her Oscar red carpet moment when she said “I’d hit that” to Gerard Butler – which turned into an awkward almost-threesome with Billy Bush. There is also the fact that she a fabulous plus size lady with an incredible sense of humor and is well received by the public, which is a nice change. Anyway! I’ve had a couple of missed connections with Gabourey Sidibe at different events like the ‘Sex and the City 2′ premiere at Radio City Music Hall and a screening of ‘The Help’ at the Director’s Guild of America theater, so it was nice to finally be able to meet with her at the ‘Tower Heist’ premiere and get a quick picture. She was just as sassy as I hoped she would be, too!

Gabby is in ‘Tower Heist’ with Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick, and Casey Affleck. This looks pretty funny, you should check it out when it hits theaters this Friday!

Do you know where Ashley Greene’s boobs are?

27 Oct

Have no fear, world! In case you couldn’t find them, Ashley Greene drew swirlies over her boobies at Brussels ‘Breaking Dawn’ fan event/premiere.

PS: I said the other day I was enjoying international Robert Pattinson as he promotes ‘Breaking Dawn’ with Ashley – and I still do. I think it’s the facial hair. Not quite pretty, not quite dirty. It suits him!

‘Like Crazy’ Premieres in NYC!

24 Oct

One film I am very much so anticipating this month is Drake Doremus’ ‘Like Crazy’. Aside from the incredible cast, the idea of a film made by almost entirely disregarding the script and going off of improv is intriguing. I love creativity and I love when actors are able to show off their own creativity and talent by improv, and people usually attribute improv to comedy so this will hopefully be an eye opener to film fanatics all over. ‘Like Crazy’ premiered in NYC last week at the Landmark Sunshine Theater down on Houston and I was able to meet one of the films young stars Anton Yelchin. The first movie I remember seeing Anton in was ‘Alpha Dog’, but I’ve seen handfuls of his other work such as ‘New York, I Love You’, ‘Star Trek’, and ‘The Beaver’ which co-stars another ‘Like Crazy’ actress Jennifer Lawrence. (KATNISS.) Felicity Jones was also in attendance but I didn’t get the chance to meet her. Unfortunately she wasn’t really interested in greeting the fans who were waiting and neither was her publicist. Oh well, maybe next time!

Anton was really sweet and took pictures with everyone who had been waiting before he headed in to screen the film. Other attendees were director Drake Doremus, Olivia Thirlby, Brad Goreski, and Karine Vanasse. ‘Like Crazy’ premieres in LA tomorrow night and is in theaters this Friday, October 18th!
