Is Chace Crawford Looking For A Role in “Catching Fire”?

8 May

The rumors, speculation, and suggestions for casting “Catching Fire” have been running rampant on the internet since before the “The Hunger Games” was even in theaters. While I have my own opinions about all of these roles needing to be cast, I have not weighed in on them here on my blog because my friend Brian over at BEST Blog summed it up pretty well back in April.

Last night during some downtime after the Met Gala arrivals I watched a new video interview conducted by Clevver News on YouTube with Chace Crawford and Anna Kendrick for their upcoming romantic comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting“. To my surprise the girl interviewing them mentioned to Chace that “a lot of people” were wanting him to be cast as Finnick O’Dair. This was the very first I had heard of Chace Crawford’s name being thrown into the ring along with Armie Hammer, Kellan Lutz, Colton Haynes, and Taylor Kitsch among others and I have to say I instantly disagreed with the idea. Actually, just to clarify, I still think it’s a terrible idea.

Today I saw that Clevver News had uploaded a new video titled “Chace Crawford: Finnick in Hunger Games! – Exclusive” that threw me off because I quickly remembered the original interview where they asked Chace Crawford about the role that was only uploaded maybe twelve hours earlier and it wasn’t really anything that cemented he wanted the role at all. In fact, while he does go on to say that he hopes has a hook up at Lionsgate now thanks to “What to Expect” he really only jokingly pleads for the role at the end. Plus when he is first asked about the role he looks at Anna Kendrick and asks her if she’s read the book to which she says, “I have not,” and then turns back to the interviewer and says, “I don’t know that character.” A few moments later Anna asks him if he’s read the books and though his initial reaction looks like a “no” she tells him to say he’s a huge fan of the books – and he does. You have to admit, Anna Kendrick knows a thing or two about book-to-movie franchises after her scene stealing role as Jessica Stanley in the first four “Twilight” films. Though I am sad to report it seems she has no interest in “The Hunger Games” with having not read the books either even though she was my first choice for Johanna Mason.

Anyway, I wouldn’t hold your breath for a “The Hunger Games” campaign from Chace Crawford though I’m sure the edited version of this interview that Clevver News put up will  help bring it into every interview he does for the next month or so. The full length interview with both Anna and Chace is below. Enjoy!

“The Hunger Games” Rips the Rug Out from Under “Twilight”

1 May

I don’t remember the exact quote, but I remember that one of the first things out of my mouth after finally seeing “The Hunger Games” on the big screen was something along the lines of: “Is ‘The Hunger Games‘ eligible for the MTV Movie Awards this year? Because I think ‘Twilight’s streak has ended.”  Last night MTV confirmed that I’ve never been more right in my life.

MTV released the nominations for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards and while “The Hunger Games” is tied with “Bridesmaids” for a whopping 8 nominations among 8 different categories, “Twilight” has only 2 nominations among 2 different categories. This takes them down from 8 nominations in 6 different categories in 2011, where “Twilight” cast members won 5 out of 6 categories they were nominated for.

Most noticeably absent from the “Twilight” nominations are a Best Female Performance nomination for Kristen Stewart (Jennifer Lawrence got one), and Best Male Performance nominations for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (Josh Hutcherson got one). The two categories “Twilight” actually are nominated for are Movie of the Year and Best Kiss – both of which are up against “The Hunger Games“. Will these 2012 MTV Movie Awards categories be as much of a blood bath as the actual Hunger Games?

The good news for “Twilight” fans is that “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire“, the highly anticipated second film in the series, will not be released until November 2013 which leaves room for this years “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2” – the final installment in the “Twilight” franchise – to takeover one last time at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

The good news for the rest of us is that the 2012 MTV Movie Awards is a glimpse into the “Twilight“-free future that awaits us all.

Voting for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards started today as of 8am. Head to MTV to start voting NOW!

Here’s My Favorite Josh Hutcherson Interview For You to Enjoy!

30 Mar

Josh Hutcherson was on Conan this week and he spent approximately five minutes throwing major amounts of shade at crazy (and by crazy I mean slutty) fans. If you made one of the signs or did one of the things Josh is throwing you under the bus for, you have no one to be mad at but yourself. However, I’d like to thank you for your tastelessness because it resulted in this HILARIOUS interview in which the JHutch swoon levels are higher than I am comfortable with. And don’t worry – it doesn’t seem like he’s actually throwing that much shade. For the most part he seems pretty amused with the whole situation!

Marc Malkin confirmed yesterday that Josh Hutcherson would be attending the Kid’s Choice Awards this weekend, and that my other fave Taylor Lautner would be in attendance. I am overwhelmed with fangirl emotions.

What if they sit near each other?

What if they present together?

What if they take a picture together?

Deep breaths. DEEP BREATHS.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2″ Official Teaser Trailer!

26 Mar

Last week we got the 10 second preview of this teaser, and those of you who saw “The Hunger Games” this weekend got to see the 45 second full length “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2” trailer on the big screen! Now it has officially debuted online for fans to watch over and over and over again to obsess, speculate, water at the mouth, and start pulling their hair out until November.

Okay, maybe that last bit was sort of dramatic… but some TwiHards can be scary like that!

This 45 second teaser trailer is equal parts Kristen Stewart (Bella), Robert Pattinson (Edward), & even Taylor Lautner (Jacob) which is a nice shift from previous installments trailers. It made me wonder what a full length trailer will look like since I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting them to show us so much of vampire Bella in just the teaser.

Also, did you notice Taylor Lautner (Jacob) is wearing the same shirt you see him in at the very end of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1“? It looks like ‘Part 2′ will pick up exactly where it left off – with Kristen Stewart (Bella) waking up a vampire!

What are YOU hoping to see in the full length trailer?

“The Hunger Games” After Party in NYC!

22 Mar

After “The Hunger Games” premiered at the SVA Theater and the cast headed to Barnes & Noble in Union Square for a fan event, my friend Dana & I headed down to The Standard where the after party would be held. There were less than 10 other people there and I was sure that, after a really long day, we would score pretty big during arrivals.

Unfortunately I was wrong. While we did get the opportunity to meet the legendary Stanley Tucci who complimented me on my Mockingjay pin, as well as musician Rob Thomas, Glee’s Cheyenne Jackson, and actress Piper Perabo who told me she hadn’t seen the movie but was just at the party for the cocktails, the main three (Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, & Liam Hemsworth) snuck in through a back entrance I didn’t even know existed.

There are some videos below of arrivals and one video of Jennifer Lawrence leaving and continuing “The Shunnifer Files” – and this time without her publicist. This was when I decided that I was going to give up trying to get a picture with her. I also included my pictures with Rob, Cheyenne, & Piper at the end!

Michelle Rodriguez @ “The Hunger Games” NYC Premiere!

22 Mar

Want a nice break from all of my “The Hunger Games” posts? How about… Michelle Rodriguez?

Michelle attended “The Hunger Games” premiere in NYC on Monday night, and during a quick smoke break before the movie started she stopped to take some pictures with waiting fans.

“The Hunger Games” : NYC Premiere!

22 Mar

I didn’t know it was happening until the day of, but there was a “The Hunger Games” premiere in New York! Honestly, I had a feeling it was going to happen based on the amount of premieres that were happening all over the world as well as how many cast members were in town, but it was only a theory until Monday morning.

It was a little chaotic because the SVA Theater where the premiere was held is small and there really wasn’t a lot of space for fans to hang out, but we made it work for the most part. Aside from my picture with Isabelle Fuhrman (above!) I didn’t get any other cast members (“The Shunnifer Files” continue), but I did take as much video as possible! Check them all out below.

Josh Hutcherson @ David Letterman!

22 Mar

As if the day wasn’t busy enough for we “The Hunger Games” fans following Liam Hemsworth’s appearance on GMA that morning and Jennifer Lawrence at David Letterman that afternoon, we found out while we were waiting for Jennifer that Josh Hutcherson would be taping his episode of The Late Show with David Letterman (it aired last night!) Tuesday evening.

Josh, who I met back in November for the first time, arrived early enough to come across the street and sign autographs for fans. Unfortunately, like Jennifer before him, he wasn’t allowed to take pictures either though I know a few lucky fans who managed to snag some right before he headed inside.

Is it me or has my site turned into a “The Hunger Games” fan site? No complaints!

Jennifer Lawrence @ David Letterman!

22 Mar

Tuesday afternoon Jennifer Lawrence paid a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman for an interview promoting “The Hunger Games” and after her taping she came across the street to sign a ton of autographs for everyone waiting.

Jennifer looked stunning, even more beautiful in person than I imagined she could be, and she was exceptionally polite as she made her way down the barricade.

Unfortunately her publicist wouldn’t allow her to take pictures with anyone – and this is the beginning of what I like to call “The Shunnifer Files“.

Liam Hemsworth visits Good Morning America!

22 Mar

The Hunger Games” are upon us! Tonight millions of Americans will fill theaters at midnight and finally see 2+ hours of “The Hunger Games” starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and – obviously – Liam Hemsworth!

Liam stopped by Good Morning America Tuesday morning for a quick interview and I was there bright and early in hopes of getting a picture with him. When Liam arrived earlier than guests usually do I was sure he was going to stop for fans on the way in, but he didn’t. I was really nervous after this happened because I thought that was so unusual, especially for such a young star promoting such a big movie, but it turned out he had way bigger plans in mind.

Someone in the crowd heard that Liam had come out of the studio in Times Square and was greeting fans right there on Broadway, so we took a walk around the corner and sure enough, there he was! The crowd was much bigger in Times Square but we managed to squeeze onto the end of a barricade, and not only did Liam agree to pictures but he pulled my friends & I into the barricade to do so.

Yes, his eyes are really that blue and gorgeous in person. And yes, his accent is absolutely to due for.

Check out the compilation of video I put together of Liam greeting his fans at Good Morning America below!
